AluFrame Aluminium Pedestal Deck and frameless glass balustrade Auckland Perched above one of New Zealand’s most iconic surf beaches, Muriwai Golf Club demanded a build that could match its setting — exposed, dramatic, and uncompromising. When LT McGuinness brought the project to life under the design vision of Jones Architects, two things were non-negotiable: structural integrity in a coastal environment, and sightlines that didn’t get in the way of the view.

Both requirements pointed to Glass Vice.

The Balustrade: Clearline Frameless Glass with Top Rail

Framing the deck perimeter, the Clearline Frameless Glass Balustrade with top rail delivers exactly what Jones Architects’ design intended: an uninterrupted view across the course and out to the Tasman Sea, without sacrificing the safety and structural rigour required for a commercial build.

The top rail finish adds a refined handrail detail — completing the system with the kind of resolved edge that commercial hospitality spaces demand. Clean, durable, and considered.

The Deck: Anchorjak Aluframe Pedestal System

The outdoor deck structure was built on the Anchorjak Aluframe Pedestal Deck System — a fully adjustable aluminium pedestal platform engineered for exactly this kind of challenge. Where conventional timber subframes would struggle with coastal exposure and uneven substrate, the Aluframe system delivers a level, stable deck surface with zero ground contact and full airflow underneath.

For a project of this profile, high foot traffic, salt air, and the scrutiny that comes with a landmark clubhouse — the Anchorjak AluFrame system gave LT McGuinness the confidence of a proven, low-maintenance Pedestal deck solution that performs long after the build is complete.

The Result

A clubhouse deck that earns its setting. The combination of Anchorjak’s structural reliability and Clearline’s visual restraint gives Muriwai Golf Club an outdoor space that will perform through decades of coastal weather — and still look the part doing it.
